Hero’s Kindness Brings Comfort and Smiles to Kids in Times of Trauma

Addison started Miles of Many Smiles in the fourth grade after finding out about a classmate’s distressing situation. Her empathy sparked an idea to create smile bags for authorities that would bring comfort and happiness to kids in times of trauma. It’s since turned into an amazing organization that has now assisted dozens of police departments throughout Indiana and Illinois. Addison not only runs this organization, but she and her sister have also currently raised over $45,000 doing fundraisers for fire departments, as well as helping to bring K9 officers to local police departments. Addison also volunteers for a foundation that helps disabled students participate in athletic events.

She has blossomed from being very shy in elementary school and feeling left out, to now being an advocate for being kind and always including others. Addison always strives to get others out of their comfort zone, understanding herself how it feels to bravely conquer fears for personal growth. 

Her teachers and school administrators have contacted her parents on several occasions with praise and gratitude for Addison’s genuine nature. She goes above and beyond academically and socially in school, and is active as an officer in multiple clubs and organizations. She has been chosen to participate in a leadership summit/camp by her local rotary club, and has presented in front of many organizations about her mission. 

Addison is an exemplary role model, and continues to inspire others. Kids Wish Network is thrilled to honor her as a Hero.
