Hero Bravely Navigates Health Crisis and Hospitalization

Alyson was recently diagnosed with a brain aneurysm that required emergency attention. She needed brain surgery, and underwent a lengthy hospitalization. This sudden health battle not only rocked her world, but those who love her.

As we watched, and often times impatiently waited for each appointment and plan to be put into action, it was Alyson who kept a positive attitude and showed no fear. There were times when we should have been her show of courage, and she comforted us, smiled and proved what it means to have faith. A true sign of heroism. After her surgery, she showed such tremendous progress, that some of us are convinced she has super powers. She saw these difficulties and hardships as challenges that needed to be overcome. And even when she became overwhelmed, she persevered. Her heroism shined once again in her ability to be a role model through her story. After weeks in the hospital, we were all so overwhelmed with happiness to see her well enough to leave. But Alyson knew all along that she’d get to come home and say that she survived an aneurysm and brain surgery.

Alyson was nominated by her parents, and Kids Wish Network honored her as a Hero for her bravery, determination and positivity throughout her trauma and journey to wellness.
