Adam’s Wish Powers Up His Gaming Dreams

Adam had everything going for him, especially on the soccer field. As captain of his team, he thrived in the sport he loved and found a strong sense of purpose and pride in playing. His world changed abruptly when he began experiencing excruciating headaches and uncontrollable vomiting. Testing revealed hydrocephalus and a pilocytic astrocytoma of the cerebellum. He has undergone four brain surgeries and continues with speech and physical therapy. With so much of his life upended, gaming became a new outlet—filling the void left by his competitive soccer days.

Diving into video games brought back Adam’s drive to learn and compete. He studied techniques from his favorite YouTubers, but they played on high-end systems that felt out of reach. His aging laptop lagged, froze, and made playing difficult, which only heightened his wish for a real gaming machine.

That wish came true when Kids Wish Network surprised him with a special delivery at his home. When he opened the box, Adam couldn’t believe what he saw—the gaming laptop he had dreamed of for years. Kids Wish Network purchased him an 18” ASUS ROG Strix high-performance gaming notebook, built for speed and vibrant graphics, giving him a completely transformed gaming experience.

“His excitement and happiness were beyond words,” said his mom. “He wished for it for a long time and can’t believe that he finally has it!” Adam is now enjoying Roblox, Minecraft, and all his favorite games in an entirely new way.
