Labubus and Cheesecake Still Have Loreen Smiling
Cincinnati, Ohio – From the moment Loreen stepped into the Pop Mart store, her eyes sparkled with wonder. Her childhood has been riddled with challenges far beyond her years—but on this special day, those challenges faded into the background, replaced by pure joy, excitement, and possibility.
Loreen’s wish was simple yet magical: a shopping spree filled with the toys she had always dreamed of. With so much to spend, she eagerly explored every corner of the store, carefully choosing each treasure. Her favorites were Labubus—plush dolls she had long admired but never had of her own. One by one, she picked them out, eventually selecting five. Among them, one stood out above the rest: a large Hello Kitty Labubu with movable eyes. “I really wanted a big giant Labubu,” Loreen said—and her wish came true.
As the shopping continued, Loreen’s happiness only grew. She added collectible figures and even the hard-to-find squishy Dumpling toys, bringing home two of the large ones. Her mom, Samya, watched with joyful disbelief as Loreen confidently selected everything her heart desired. “She was on cloud nine,” Samya shared. “The excitement on her face being able to pick whatever she wanted was just priceless.”
After the shopping spree, Loreen and her family were treated to an unforgettable experience at The Cheesecake Factory. The team went above and beyond to make Loreen feel celebrated—welcoming her warmly, seating the family at a specially decorated table, and surprising her with a thoughtful gift basket and balloons. “Oh my goodness, they were amazing!” Samya said. “I teared up the way they made sure this was such a special experience for her.”
Loreen’s journey has not been an easy one. Diagnosed at a young age with a rare SCN1A genetic mutation that causes seizures, she has spent much of her life facing medical challenges with courage and resilience. Yet on this day, Loreen was not defined by illness—she was defined by laughter, confidence, and happiness.
Reflecting on the magic of the day, Loreen’s mom shared her gratitude: “Thank you so much. We really appreciate it.” For Loreen and her family, this was more than a shopping spree or a meal—it was a day filled with joy, love, and memories that will last forever.
