6-Year-Old Rocks Hospitalization with Positivity, Resiliency and Kindness

Wiley “Barrett” has been a rockstar throughout his admission. From the many procedures he had to do, to the big asks of the hospital staff, he has never once complained. Wiley is a team player, and is always willing to do whatever it takes to get his body better.

“He is very kind and polite to every person he encounters,” said his Child Life Specialist Alex Sansom at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health in Oklahoma City. “Even when he feels horrible, he remains kind and very compliant. He is so fantastic to teach.” She was inspired by how he handled himself throughout all the challenges of his hospitalization, and nominated him as a Hero.
