Tampa Police and Kids Wish Network Help 1,500 Kids Receive Holiday Gifts

TAMPA, Fla. The Tampa Police Department spent last weekend responding to a different kind of call for help, bringing holiday joy to kids and families through its annual Enchanted Wonderland event.

1,500 kids in need received gifts, with toys donated by Kids Wish Network and Walmart.

Families who participated included those connected to TPD’s Resources in Community Hope House program, the Police Athletic League, and military families.

“A lot of the families struggle, it’s been a difficult time. So, for us to be able to provide this to them, it takes a burden off of the parents,” said Tam Lai, Executive Director for Kids Wish Network. -Spectrum Noticias News

The event was made possible by the commitment of local officers, with Spectrum News reporting that about 50 officers volunteered to help distribute toys and make the day happen.

Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw shared that the event is growing each year and that giving back is something the department looks forward to.

Kids Wish Network is grateful to be part of efforts like this that lift families up during the holidays, and help ensure kids feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
