***Heroes of the Month*** Siblings’ Love, Courage and Strength Carry Mom Through Cancer Journey

Siblings Killian, Jagger and Olivia were there for their mom throughout her life-changing cancer journey. The stresses of her diagnosis affected the whole family – and roles were switched as the siblings became the family caregivers. Each showed love, support and courage, taking care of their mom and family in their own special way.

After their mom was diagnosed, Jagger was very worried, but remained brave and helped make sure his mom was comfortable and taken care of. During her hospital stay, he always made sure she had a warm blanket, a full cup of water, and many warm hugs. “Jagger’s hugs are healing,” shared his mom. “Whenever he embraces you, his hugs are warm and you feel the love he has for you radiating through you.” He is very sweet and loving.

Olivia took it all in stride, and was determined to be her mom’s main helper during her recovery. She has always been a mini maternal figure to her brothers, and her mom’s sweet cuddle bug. Even when her mom was doing better after her surgery, Olivia continued to nurture her and help out around the house. She is kind, thoughtful, and loves to make and give gifts to brighten someone’s day.

Killian was her mini caretaker while she recovered from surgery. He knew she couldn’t lift, bend or twist, and would frequently check on his mom and make sure she always had a tumbler full of ice water. Killian stepped up in many ways, even helping to take care of their dog, two cats, and two goats. He is fierce, witty, sweet, cuddly and fun. 

Jagger, Olivia and Killian were each honored as Kids Wish Network Heroes of the Month, receiving their own special gift package. Cancer had an impact on their entire family, and these siblings came together at a time when their mom needed them the most.
