Wish Kid Mackenzie Meets Her Soccer Idol Alex Morgan

Mackenzie and her twin sister were born at 33 weeks gestation, and at a mere two days old, Mackenzie was diagnosed with tetralogy of Fallot, a rare heart condition involving four abnormalities occurring together. At five months old, Mackenzie underwent surgery to repair a hole in her heart and to correct issues with her pulmonary valves. Since then, her heart requires constant monitoring.

Mackenzie is a tough young girl with a passion for sports. She loves soccer most of all, and her goal when she grows up is to be just like her role models soccer stars Hope Solo and Alex Morgan.

Kids Wish Network flew Mackenzie and her family to Orlando to not just attend an Orlando Pride soccer game, but to meet soccer great Alex Morgan during pre-game warm ups.

Alex spent some private time with Mackenzie talking about their lives. “It was great spending time with Mackenzie and helping to make her wish special. She was a true inspiration to me and a competitor in life”.

Mackenzie watched from the President’s Box as the Pride played a hard game against Kansas City. The excitement for Mackenzie continued afterwards when players from both teams stopped by to give Mackenzie their best. Mackenzie went home with a prized memento from the game, the Pride’s captain Kaylyn Kyle’s arm band.

Mackenzie and family stayed at Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa and were chauffeured around Orlando in a private limo courtesy of Park Avenue Limousines. While in Orlando, the family was treated to the fun of I-Drive 360, home of the 400 foot Coca-Cola Orlando Eye, Sea Life Aquarium, Madame Tussauds, and iFly. The family also saw a show at Blue Man Group Sharp Aquos Theatre and enjoyed wonderful dinners throughout the wish courtesy of The Melting Pot, Bahama Breeze, and Emeril’s.
