Gabby, a twin, was born 3 months premature. It wasn’t until she was a year old that doctors diagnosed her with cerebral palsy. Gabby is determined to not let her illness define her. Her favorite pastimes include watching TV’s The Voice and Project Runway, as well as listening to pop star Meghan Trainor. She is happy writing and loves going to the beach.
Kids Wish Network wanted to give Gabby time away for fun in the sun, so we sent her and her family to enjoy the dune-backed beaches of the resort town Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
Before she left for her wish, Gabby received a beautiful dress from Springfield, MA, dress shop Just B for Gabby to wear to a traditional Victorian tea party she would be attending at the three-tiered Victoria’s Restaurant in Rehoboth.
Gabby and her family were guests of Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center located right on Rehoboth Beach. First day activities included kayaking and paddle boarding from Dewey Water Sports and passes to Midway Speed Park to enjoy mini golf, rock climbing, go carts, amusement rides, and water slides. The busy day ended with dinner at the upscale 1776 Steakhouse.
The Justice store at the Tanger Outlet and Ron Jon’s Surf Shop added to Gabby’s wish with a gift card and a gift basket, respectively. Gabby also enjoyed a day at Jolly Roger Park Splash Mountain to enjoy the waterslides of Splash Mountain and the Pier Amusement Park Rides. Dinner for the evening was at The Bon Fire Restaurant, known for its seafood and prime rib buffet.
