At age five, Christina began having persistent headaches and felt nauseated and fatigued for two weeks straight. Doctors performed an MRI and results showed a fast-growing and high-grade tumor located in her cerebellum, a stage IV Medulloblastoma. Over time, Christina has endured surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy as treatment.
She is a shy and creative girl, and her favorite subject in school is math. In her free time, Christina enjoys collecting Beanie Babies, playing Candyland, and watching Strawberry Shortcake. She dreams of becoming a princess when she grows up and living in a castle like the one featured in Frozen.
Kids Wish Network wanted to make Christina feel as special as she is to us by making her Princess for a Day.
Christina and her family stayed in the heart of downtown San Francisco as guests of the lavish Omni San Francisco. The family enjoyed dinners at the popular Hard Rock Café on Pier 39, Bob’s Steak & Chop House, a top choice for great steak, ambiance, and personality located within the Omni, and the Rainforest Café in Fisherman’s Wharf.
She got up close and personal with famous celebrity, sporting and historical wax figures at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum at Fisherman’s Wharf and explored the California Academy of Sciences, a natural history museum housing over 26 million specimens.
We wanted Christina to look the part of a princess and were able to do so through the kindness of Bella Bridesmaids of San Francisco, who dressed Christina in a beautiful white gown. A princess should travel in style, so MA Limousine & Transportation Worldwide drove Christina to her “castle” Villa Montalvo, an Italian Mediterranean Revival mansion nestled in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountain. The staff greeted Princess Christina and her family and took them on a tour of Villa Montalvo. A delicious lunch was served by Bush Catering.
Before leaving the grand town of San Francisco, Christina had a special encounter with a koala at the San Francisco Zoo.
