Wish Kid Briana Had a Red Carpet VIP Shopping Experience of a Lifetime

“The wish was above wonderful and amazing”

Briana chalked up the pain in her legs to spending a lot of time on her feet. After a week of it, she could not move her legs at all. A CAT scan revealed a mass on her pelvic bone, and she was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a cancer that occurs in and around the bone. Treatment was surgery, a 10 day hospital stay, and chemo. A check up after the completion of chemo showed cancer in her thyroid, prompting its removal. Briana is now on daily thyroid medication.

Briana is a fighter and lets nothing stop her. Because she’s seen firsthand all the important work a child life specialist does, she dreams of one day working in healthcare. She also enjoys shopping, especially for the hottest new products in makeup, skin care, fragrance.

Kids Wish Network granted Briana’s wish and sent her and her family on a very special VIP Shopping Experience at the Midland Park Mall in Midland, Texas.

Briana’s memorable wish started when she packed up her car and headed to Odessa, Texas, for a delicious breakfast courtesy of The Egg & I Restaurant. From there, Briana headed over to the always fun, GET OUT! Live Action Escape Room, then on to check-in at the upscale Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Midland Plaza. That night she enjoyed games and movies at Cinergy Cinemas & Entertainment.

Briana’s wish didn’t end there, as the very next day was her big VIP shopping spree. After a quick breakfast at the yummy Eatery 117 located inside her hotel, the always reliable B&B Platinum Limousine treated Briana like “royalty” as they picked her up and took her to the Midland Park Mall for her VIP shopping experience! As she arrived at the mall, she walked a red carpet, compliments of mall management, while “paparazzi” took her picture.

Hot Topic, Dillards, JC Penny, Sephora, Claire’s, G by Guess, Journeys, Bealls, Rue 21, Bath & Body Works, Zales, and American Eagle Outfitters all generously donated toward Briana’s once-in-a-lifetime shopping spree. While still in the Midland Park Mall, Chick-fil-A provided a white linen lunch for Briana and her family and Great American Cookies topped it off with a special cookie cake.

Briana talked about some of the various stores in more detail as they really touched her heart and made her feel very special. Briana said her experience at Sephora was amazing and the employees gave her makeup that actually smells like chocolate. As an avid Bath & Body Works customer and a lover of their products, Briana was especially in high spirits while the employees helped her pick out her favorite fragrances. Briana also chose sweaters from G by Guess, a couple of outfits from Rue 21, the “perfect shoes” from Journeys, a special gift basket with balloons and a very generous store credit from Dillard’s, a very generous gift card from Bealls, and Zales gave her a beautiful necklace. After all her shopping, Briana was able to relax and enjoy a delicious meal at her favorite restaurant, Texas Roadhouse.

When asked what was the most meaningful part of her wish Briana said, “It was just so amazing how everyone came together for just one person, me!”
