“He met all his favorite characters and more”
Alexander was born with a birthmark about the size of an inch on his hip, and it seemed to cause him discomfort. He was finally diagnosed with a vascular malformation, characterized by painful abnormal clusters of blood vessels that occur during fetal development. He was referred to a specialist; there are very few doctors in the U.S. familiar with this illness as it is so rare.
Alexander has an adventurous soul and a vivid imagination. He loves superheroes, dinosaurs, and pirates. Among his favorite activities are playing with racecars and going on “zombie hunts” in his backyard with his dad.
As is the dream of many children, Alexander’s wish was to go to Walt Disney World where he would get to meet his favorite characters like Tinkerbelle, Rapunzel, and two very famous mice.
Alexander and his family stayed in a suite at WorldQuest Orlando Resort, close to the magic that is Disney. They took in several parks – Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios, and Islands of Adventure – Alexander’s favorite being Magic Kingdom. There he danced with Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
During dinner at CiCi’s Pizza, Alexander was surprised with a visit from another very special “princess” from character company Enchanted Entertainment. The family also enjoyed wonderful food at Logan’s Roadhouse, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, and Chevy’s Fresh Mex.
Passes to be used any time during the family’s five days in Orlando to Sea Life, Madame Tussauds, and the Orlando Eye were provided compliments of Merlin Entertainment.
Alexander’s dad said his son found the entire wish “amazing” and that every night Alexander easily fell asleep, exhausted from the day’s activities.
