Regan has an adventurous spirit and loves roller coasters. Even though she struggles with stresses from her autoimmune condition, she strives to live her life to the fullest. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, made her dream come true with an exhilarating family adventure in North Carolina.
The thrills began when Regan, her mom and older sister experienced whitewater rafting at the world’s largest manmade recirculating whitewater river at U.S. National Whitewater Center. Her dad and little sister cheered them on. Her entire family was able to participate in a variety of adventure activities.
During Regan’s wish, the thrills continued with a visit to Carowinds amusement park, a fun day of attractions, rides and shows. Her favorite charge was experiencing the world’s tallest and fastest giga coaster Fury 325… her dad survived its wrath keeping his eyes closed.
The family stayed at Residence Inn Charlotte Steele Creek who surprised Regan with a goodie basket. They also enjoyed a memorable dinner at Dressler’s Restaurant. “The food and service was above and beyond anything that we’ve ever had,” said her mom Laura. “My favorite part of Regan’s wish was spending time together. The whole experience was amazing.”
Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai said, “We’re happy we could give Regan a wish of new and exciting experiences that thrilled her sense of adventure.”
