Sean Perseveres through the Pain and Inspires Others

Kids Wish Network is proud to award Sean as a Hero of the Month. He’s been a patient of Shriners Hospitals for Children in Springfield since he was 4 days old, undergoing the Ponseti method of casting to correct his congenital clubfeet. He never lets his feet stop him mentally or physically, and enjoys time with his peers playing on his local baseball, basketball and football teams. He continues to work through the physical pain, and it only motivates him to further challenge himself. Even with all the difficulties of Sean’s surgeries and treatments, he remains in the top 5% of his class.

He’s a silent leader in sports, who other teammates turn to during tough game practices. Throughout the years and surgeries, he’s been grateful for all the amazing Shriners staff who have helped him be as mobile and able as possible. His Nurse Care Manager Jodi Terrel nominated Sean for his courage, determination and positivity that continues to inspire others.
