New York Boy Gets His Thomas Land Wish

Sawyer is all about trains. He collects them, plays with them, and wants to be a conductor when he grows up. Sawyer suffers from a life-threatening condition and he has always wanted to ride on Thomas the Tank Engine. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, sent him and his mom to Edaville Family Theme Park, home of Thomas Land.

Sawyer and his mom stayed at the luxurious 4-star hotel The Westin Boston Waterfront. They had a magnificent room filled with snacks, a personalized wooden alphabet train with his name spelled out, and his very own conductor hat which he wore everywhere throughout his wish. Upon arriving, Sawyer made a beeline to Thomas Land, and had lots of fun riding a bunch of rides and exploring a functioning train. He loved seeing the inside of all the cabins.

In addition to his amazing time at Thomas Land, Sawyer also experienced Dino Land, where he explored the Dino walking trail and got some prehistoric souvenirs from the gift shop. After an awesome day of trains and dinosaurs, Sawyer and his mom had dinner at Tony C’s Sports Bar. They were looking forward to their scheduled dinner at Rosa Mexicana the following day, but Sawyer wasn’t feeling well, and they had to head home early. Sawyer has so many happy memories to take home with him.

“Sawyer’s wish provided him and his mom with many special moments that they’ll always treasure,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.
