Brantley Experiences Grand Adventures at Great Wolf Lodge

“It was so great watching him in the water park… He stepped outside of his comfort zone going on all the slides.”

When Brantley was a toddler, he began feeling sick during a family vacation. He was also having difficulty breathing. Testing revealed he had an autoimmune condition that would forever change his life. At the age of 8, he was later diagnosed with Chiari malformation, a condition in which brain tissue extends into the spinal canal. Brantley recently underwent a decompression surgery on his brain and neck. It was a very stressful time, and he was in need of something special to look forward to. Brantley dreamed about getting away to Great Wolf Lodge and having fun times with his family. Kids Wish Network got out their compass and geared up all the perfect essentials to give Brantley an exciting expedition full of exploration and adventure.

Kids Wish Network sent Brantley and his family on a weekend getaway to Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, North Carolina. He felt special staying in the hotel’s Wolf Den Suite, having his own den with a bunk bed and TV.

The adventure-themed resort offers many fun activities in the great outdoors, as well as its grand indoors with a water park, bowling, ropes course, XD theater, shows, arcade, mini golf, family games, character appearances and more. Brantley’s favorite moments were at the arcade and amazing indoor water park – especially the slides and wave pool. “It was so great watching him in the water park,” said his mom Melissa. “He stepped outside of his comfort zone going on all the slides.”

Brantley’s wish at Great Wolf Lodge gave him time away from many of his medical stresses… it brought him to his happy place.
