Makenzie is a huge Harry Potter fan and wanted to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, made her dream come true, sending her family to Universal Studios for a mystical experience. Makenzie has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a group of disorders that affect connective tissues supporting the skin, bones, blood vessels, and other organs and tissues.
Kids Wish Network flew Makenzie’s family to Los Angeles, starting off her sweet wish at Voodoo Doughnut for a memorable breakfast. She had a mystic time at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter experiencing all the attractions. She loved riding Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and drinking the famous Butter Beer soda. During the wish, her family enjoyed accommodations provided by The Westin Los Angeles Airport hotel and lunch by Jersey Mike’s Subs. Makenzie also had a wonderful time at Madame Tussauds wax museum. “My favorite part of her dream coming true was seeing her face light up with excitement,” said Makenzie’s mom Stephanie.
“We’re so glad Makenzie had a magical time exploring her favorite fictional universe,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.
Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following sponsors for making Makenzie’s dreams become a reality:
