Ayden could have asked to meet anyone for his wish… he chose creative and colorful… a LEGO Master Builder! Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, constructed a vibrant and fun-filled wish sending Ayden to the LEGOLAND Florida Resort.
Kids Wish Network flew Ayden and his family to Florida for his colorful adventure. They stayed at the amazing LEGOLAND Hotel in a pirate-themed room for an imaginative stay to treasure. One of his favorite experiences was spending time with a LEGO Master Builder. He took Ayden on a behind the scenes tour of their workshop, and helped him build a wolf out of LEGOs. “He had a great time touring with the Master Builder,” said Ayden’s mom Shanez. The thrills continued at LEGOLAND Florida Resort’s theme park exploring all the LEGO displays and fun-filled rides. During the wish, his family also enjoyed a memorable dinner at Ruby Tuesday.
Ayden’s health struggles began when he was a year old. He wasn’t feeling well and had difficulty breathing… X-rays revealed he had a tumor between his heart and spinal cord. He was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma. After chemotherapy wasn’t successful, he began taking medication as part of a yearlong clinical trial that eventually shrunk his tumor, followed by a surgery to remove it.
“We’re so glad we could give Ayden such a memorable experience that further inspires his love of LEGO and sparks his imagination,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.
Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following sponsors for making Ayden’s dreams become a reality:
- LEGOLAND Hotel
- Merlin’s Magic Wand
- Ruby Tuesday
