Michael Phelps Jr. loves theme parks and all the thrills that come with them. He suffers from a life-threatening condition, and has always wanted to visit Orlando’s most famous theme parks. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, made his dream come true, flying his family to Orlando for a Florida theme park adventure.
They stayed at the Home2suites by Hilton Orlando/International Drive South situated right between Disney and Universal Studios. The family spent their first day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Michael loved Toy Story Land and his favorite ride was the Slinky Dog Dash Roller Coaster. His family also visited Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure during his trip, and he loved The Simpsons Ride. After their time at the parks, they were treated to delicious dinners at Big River Grille & Brewing Works and King’s Bowl Orlando.
The family also went to Disney’s Magic Kingdom where Michael got to preview the villains event, a new after-hours program focusing on all of Disney’s most iconic villains. Michael also had a great view of the nightly fireworks. After an amazing time at the parks, Michael and his family had dinner at Lafayette’s, a restaurant that features, live music nightly. They received excellent service from the staff and Michael was even that nights guest of honor. In addition to lots of amazing gifts, Michael got to request a song for that night’s band to play. “I had the best time ever! It was super busy but relaxing,” said Michael.
