Guest Blog: Jeremiah McCain’s Wish at Heart Of Dixie Railroad Museum

Hello Kids Wish Network,

Dear Denise and all of Kids Wish Network, You truly went over and beyond to make Jeremiah’s wish to be a train engineer a dream come true. Jeremiah was initially diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis through newborn screening and was confirmed two weeks later through a sweat test. He has three other brothers, two who have Cystic Fibrosis as well. A daily schedule for our family includes enzymes and other meds that must be taken every meal and snack. Chest therapy and inhalers are done two times a day when healthy and more during times of sickness. We are careful to stay away from germs and wear masks during cold and flu season to prevent sickness. Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects the lungs, digestive, and reproductive tract.

Jeremiah has always been fascinated with trains. He loves playing with model trains and enjoys watching trains as well. His goal when he grows up is to have his own train company and give train rides for free. His wish was granted thanks to Denise and Kids Wish Network. Jeremiah was given a train ride along with 20 of his friends joining him. As an extra bonus, he was allowed to drive the train as well while wearing a train engineer costume provided by Kids Wish. He enjoyed every minute of his wish, and still talks about his awesome train day. Thank you again for making his dream come true and making him feel special! We will always hold that day in our hearts.
