D.C., Wash. (November 2019): Kenneth is fascinated by astronauts and everything NASA. Kenneth has an autoimmune condition, and Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, went to the moon and back to send Kenneth’s dream into orbit.
His wish began at the Kennedy Space Center where he went on a VIP tour to see the launch pads and vehicle assembly building. He also toured the space shuttle Atlantis and experienced the Mars Base 1 program where he got to simulate what it would be like to be an astronaut living on Mars. Kenneth then had lunch with retired astronaut Robert C. Springer who revealed to him that he’d be going to Washington DC to tour NASA Headquarters. Kenneth was also invited to tour the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. He went on a fun and informative VIP tour of NASA Headquarters where he learned all about the pioneers of space flight and the modern technology that astronauts use. During his wish, Kenneth and his mom stayed at The Wink Hotel and dined at Yard House and RIS restaurant.
“Kenneth’s wish was an amazing opportunity for him to experience so many facets of space exploration and technology,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.
Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following sponsors for making Kenneth’s dreams become a reality:
