Oklahoma Girl has a Whimsical Wish at Disney

ORLANDO, Fla. (November 2019): Mackenzie loves Disney, her favorite movie is Beauty and the Beast, and she loves all the Disney princesses. Mackenzie suffers from congenital amegakaryocytic thrombocytopenia, a rare inherited blood disorder that reduces the level of bone marrow cells that produce platelets. Mackenzie has already had to have two rounds of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant in her short three years of life. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses made her dream come true, sending her to Disney World.

Kids Wish Network flew Mackenzie and her family to Orlando, Florida for her big wish. They stayed in a beautiful suite at the WorldQuest Resort. She spent her first day at Hollywood Studios and had a blast playing in Toy Story Land. That night she had dinner at Outback Steakhouse where her server surprised her with a Minnie Mouse doll and a Disney shirt.

Mackenzie also went to Epcot which was her favorite park because of the Frozen Ever After ride. She had a magical time seeing Anna and Elsa and all her favorite Frozen characters. She spent her last day at Magic Kingdom, and loved riding some of the rides and meeting her favorite princesses. During her magical trip to Disney, Mackenzie and her family dined at LongHorn Steakhouse and Hash House A Go Go where she ate the largest pancake she had ever seen. “It was amazing to just see her smile and have a good time,” said Mackenzie’s mom Lacey.

“We’re happy that Mackenzie’s wish brought her so much happiness and joy,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.

Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following sponsors for making Mackenzie’s dreams become a reality:

  • WorldQuest Resort
  • Outback Steakhouse
  • LongHorn Steakhouse
  • Hash House A Go Go
