SALT LAKE CITY, Utah. (November 2019): Yahmai loves batman and video games. He especially likes to play video games with his siblings. Yahmai suffers from spina bifida, a type of malformation of the spine and spinal cord and hydrocephalus, the buildup of fluid in cavities deep within the brain. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, went above and beyond to purchase Yahmai the perfect game station and accessories to create his very own game room. Kids Wish Network started by purchasing Yahmai a PlayStation 4 bundle complete with LEGO Batman, Minecraft, and LEGO DC Super-Villains video games.
Kids Wish Network also purchased a gaming chair for two, 50” flat screen television, a rug, and an extra controller so Yahmai could play his favorite games with his siblings. Sign of the Times also donated multiple posters and accessories that Yahmai could use to decorate his new game room, including a framed batman poster and a sign made out of license plates that spelled “game on”. Ultimate Sack also donated a massive bean bag chair. Yahmai would constantly look out his window in anticipation once his new game station arrived. It was like Christmas had come early and Yahmai got a new present every day of the week. “The wish couldn’t have come at a better time,” said Yahmai’s mother Inelise. Yahmai’s grandfather had just passed away and this gave him something good to look forward to.
“Yahmai’s wish enables him to temporarily take his focus off his health challenges and bond with his family and friends,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.
