ORLANDO, Fla. (October 2019): Logan`s favorite movie is Toy Story, and he collects toys from the movie Cars. They’re fun distractions from his challenges with biliary atresia, a rare childhood condition of the liver and bile ducts. At eight weeks old, he underwent surgery and spent over a week in the ICU. Logan continually has blood work, scans and infusions, and has had several hospitalizations from internal infections. A liver transplant is also inevitable. Logan was in need of something special to look forward to, and dreamed of going to Disney and experiencing all of its magic. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, flew his family to Orlando for thrilling Florida adventures.
Logan’s wish was a whirlwind of fun visiting the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Universal Orlando Resort. His favorite ride at EPCOT was Test Track feeling the thrill of speed. He loved all the parks. “Everyone was so nice and I got to ride lots of rides,” said Logan.
During the wish, his family stayed at Springhill Suites by Marriot who surprised Logan with a gift basket filled with his favorite things, balloons and even a gift basket for his older brother. The family also enjoyed many memorable dining experiences at The BOATHOUSE, Terralina Crafted Italian, and Bahama Breeze. Terralina gifted him a Toy Story hat and racecars, and the head chef helped him create his own pizza. The BOATHOUSE seated his family at a special table and topped off dinner with an extraordinary tour of landmarks on Village Lake in one of their vintage amphibious cars.
“My wish was the best week of my life,” said Logan.
Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai said, “Logan’s wish was filled with so many new and exciting experiences, and he was able to have time away from medical stresses and just have fun being a kid.”
