Ethan was hit in the head by a large tree limb, causing a traumatic brain injury. He was airlifted to Marshfield Children’s Hospital where it was discovered that he had suffered major damage to his frontal lobe and facial bones. Ethan had to undergo several lifesaving brain surgeries and is currently undergoing physical therapy during his recovery in order for him to relearn how to walk, chew, and talk.
Ethan has a cheerful sense of humor and despite everything he’s been through, he loves to tell jokes and treats everyone he meets with respect and kindness. Throughout his recovery, Ethan is always eager to offer up a high five and a smile. The accident left him with weakness in his left side and he works on his strength and physical ability in multiple therapy sessions every week. Ethan has also made great strides with his speech therapy and went from only being able to form a few words to being able to speak in full sentences. Ethan is an inspiration and continues to work hard to improve his speech and left-sided weakness.
