KANSAS CITY, Mo. (August 2019): Lucio Gallegos is all about baseball and has always wanted to see the Kansas City Royals play live. Lucio suffers from a life-threatening condition and Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, made his dream come true, sending Lucio and his family to a Kansas City Royals home game at Kauffman Stadium. The family stayed at the Adam’s Mark: Hotel & Conference Center, and enjoyed two spacious rooms during their hospitable stay. Lucio also had a blast at Coco Key Water Resort, a massive indoor water park located right inside their hotel. “It was a lot of fun! The slides were my favorite part,” said Lucio.
Lucio and his family took a shuttle from their hotel to the stadium to watch the Royals play against the New York Mets. He had a homerun wish and loved watching his favorite team play live for the first time. Right before the game, the family had dinner at Big T’s Bar Bq for some Smokey Kansas City BBQ.
“We’re so glad we could give Lucio what he dreamed about and memorable moments of family togetherness,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.
