ATLANTA, Ga. (August 2019): Kristopher Lewis loves football. His favorite team is the Atlanta Falcons, and he wished to see them play live. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, made his dream come true, sending him to a preseason Falcons game against the New York Jets where he would be honorary captain. Kristopher suffers from hemophilia A, a genetic bleeding disorder in which the blood does not clot properly.
When Kristopher and his family arrived at the Mercedes Benz-Stadium, they were greeted by the Atlanta Falcons Community Relations Manager. He received his very own Honorary Captain Falcons Jersey, and went on an exclusive private tour of the stadium.
After his tour, Kristopher was escorted onto the field to meet some of the players while they warmed up. He even got to meet Dan Quinn, the head coach of the Falcons. Kristopher also met Tyrell Zimmerman, a former college linebacker and children’s author. “The whole experience was amazing, I loved taking pictures with the cheerleaders, standing on the sidelines meeting the players and the coach,” said Kristopher.
Then it was time for the coin toss to start the game. Kristopher made his way to the middle of the field where he was introduced, standing alongside Falcons’ players Blidi Wreh-Wilson and Brian Hill. Afterward, Kristopher had a blast watching the game from the end zone.
During Kristopher’s wish, his family stayed at the Embassy Suites by Hilton, and enjoyed VIP status at Thrive, having a private dining experience before the restaurant opened for the evening.
“A heartfelt thanks to the Atlanta Falcons for putting such an amazing smile on Kristopher’s face,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.
