NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. (August 2019): Bentlee Shipers has epilepsy, a neurological disorder characterized by recurrent seizures. He experiences various types, and has multiple seizures per minute. Bentlee has undergone brain surgery and takes medications, yet he continues to have episodes. He loves activities where he’s putting things together, and he mostly plays indoors during the summer months to avoid overheating. Bentlee has another surgery scheduled, and since he loves building things, Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, made his dream come true, getting him a 12-month subscription to Brick Box. Each month he’ll look forward to a mystery box of fun filled with licensed building brick sets, Minifigures and other brick-related products. As part of his wish, Bentlee will also be visiting Florida theme parks once he’s fully recovered from his surgery.
Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai said, “Bentlee’s wish will give him an activity he can enjoy after his surgery, and something special to anticipate every month.”
