ALEXANDRIA BAY, N.Y. (August 2019): Grace Wills loves animals and visiting various zoos. While she has been to many in upstate New York, she has never been to the Bronx Zoo or the Central Park Zoo in the Big Apple. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, gave Grace annual passes to both zoos for a year of wild fun. The Bronx Zoo also graciously donated 4 day passes with a special lunch. Grace suffers from a life-threatening condition.
Kids Wish Network traveled Grace and her family from upstate New York to New York City by train for a scenic adventure. It was extra exciting for Grace since it was also her birthday. After arriving in NYC, her family checked in at the luxurious Omni Berkshire Place, located in the heart of Times Square. Grace and her family also enjoyed some sight-seeing, taking a tour of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Then it was time to visit the Bronx Zoo. She had a wonderful time seeing the animals, her favorite was the aardvark. “I like their name, and they were in a really cool night viewing area,” said Grace.
That evening, Kids Wish Network had another surprise for Grace from Broadway.com. She and her family saw Frozen on Broadway at the St. James Theater. She was as pretty as a princess in her Elsa dress and sang along to some of her favorite Disney songs. “I loved seeing Grace’s face light up during the show and hearing her cheer as she was watching,” said her mom Emily.
“We loved giving Grace a wish that incorporates all the things she loves into a wish trip that keeps on giving,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.
