ANAHEIM, Calif. (August 2019): Maleia Franklin is a little princess that loves Disney, and more than anything wanted to meet Minnie Mouse. Maleia suffers from biliary atresia, a rare disease of the liver that occurs in infants and can lead to liver failure if not treated properly. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, made Maleia’s dream come true, flying her family to Disneyland for a Disney adventure.
Maleia’s family checked into the Anaheim Portofino Inn and Suites hotel, enjoying spacious accommodations in a family friendly suite with bunk beds that Maleia and her siblings loved. During her magical moments in the parks, she had an exclusive one-on-one fantastical tea party with Minnie Mouse, spending lots of time together. “Minnie really took her time with Maleia, just playing and interacting. We loved seeing Maleia’s reactions,” said her mom Ciera. She also loved the rides and meeting other Disney characters like Elsa and Anna. “Everyone was so sweet to Maleia, we got to do so much,” said her mom.
The family was treated to delicious dinners at fabulous restaurants including Tortilla Jo’s, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, and Saddle Ranch Chop House. Saddle Ranch also invited her family to a special bonfire to roast marshmallows before dinner.
“Maleia’s wish was beyond her sweetest dreams, and we’re so happy she was able to experience so many magical moments,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.
