TROY, Mich. (July 2019): Brendon Wilson has epilepsy, a condition that causes recurrent seizures. His health challenges don’t stop his aspirations of wanting to be a successful entrepreneur when he grows up. Brendon admires high-end clothing, and wished for extravagant designer shoes. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, made his stylish dreams come true and more.
Brendon and his mom were picked up at their house in a custom Corvette stretch limousine courtesy of Limo World. He loved his state-of-the-art ride, and felt like a star being chauffeured to Somerset Collection mall. “From the moment we were picked up, we received royal treatment,” said Brendon’s mom Keah. Kids Wish Network sent Brendon to Neiman Marcus where he picked out his dream shoes, a pair of bright red Gucci sneakers.
After his ritzy shopping experience, Brendon and his mom enjoyed a special lunch at NM Café. He spent the rest of his time at Express Men, where he was greeted with a red carpet, personal shopper and a private fitting room. He also received a gift card to pick out his favorite outfits. “Brendon is at an age where he’s trying to find his own style and identity,” said Brendon’s mom. “Express really helped be a part of that for him.”
“Thank you for making me feel like a king,” said Brendon. “Now I know what it feels like to be treated like a celebrity!”
“Brendon’s wish went beyond what he could have imagined, giving him a memorable experience with his mom and further motivation to follow his dreams,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.
