PARAMUS, N.J. (July 2019): Wish Kid John Ferony deals with stresses from his autoimmune condition, and puts his focus on what he loves – making music. He wished for a Schecter electric guitar, the same model played by the lead guitarist of one of his favorite bands. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, made John’s dream come true, surprising him with a new Schecter Synyster Gates Custom-S electric guitar, graciously provided by Sweetwater.
For John’s wish, his family was treated to a memorable dinner at Red Lobster in Paramus. “Our meal was amazing, they took such great care of us,” said his mom Samantha. Then came the surprise. Manager Joseph DeCaro visited their table to announce it was time for a very special dessert. He walked the family to John’s sweet reward. On behalf of Kids Wish Network, DeCaro presented him with the electric guitar that he admired online every day and dreamed of having. John was in awe… it was electrifying.
John said, “Thank you so so much, I never expected to have the guitar!” “Our whole family is blown away by it,” said his mom. John was so excited, that he brought his new guitar to perform for his first large crowd… his adoring fans of nearly 26 relatives on a family vacation.
“We’re thrilled that John’s wish was so meaningful to him, and we’re so appreciative to Sweetwater for continuing to inspire his love of music,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.
