ORLANDO, Fla. (May 2019): Damon suffers from complex congenital heart disease and has five holes in his heart and multiple leaking valves and arteries. He loves LEGOs and Disney, and he really wanted to experience what Florida theme parks have to offer. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, flew Damon and his family to Florida for a magical theme park adventure he would always remember.
Kids Wish Network flew Damon’s family to Orlando where they enjoyed whimsical and colorful accommodations at the LEGOLAND Beach Retreat, a village style resort composed of LEGO themed bungalows. He had an awesome time exploring the park and resort, and loved seeing all the LEGO sculptures and meeting LEGO characters. After an amazing time at LEGOLAND, the family stayed at the beautiful Westgate Lake Resort & Spa. Damon also went to Universal Studios where he had a blast experiencing all the exhilarating rides and shows. His favorite ride was the Pteranodon Flyers ride from Jurassic Park. That night they had dinner in their hotel room provided by Pizza Hut.
Damon loved Disney World, where he met Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck, and Mickey Mouse. He enjoyed the rides and saw two parades and fireworks. That night the family had an epic dinner at Pirates Dinner Adventure.
“The look on Damon’s face, it was amazing. Everything was fabulous,” said Damon’s grandma Anita. “He’s talking about it every day.”
“We’re so glad Damon had such a vibrant wish filled with creative adventures,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.
