ROANOKE, Va. (June 2019): Jaycee Harris is a teen who loves experimenting with makeup and learning new techniques from online video tutorials. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, created a radiant palette of pampering for Jaycee’s beautiful wish. She has an autoimmune condition, and it was special for Jaycee to put all of her attention on her passion instead of her illness.
Her dream came true at MAC Cosmetics, inside Macy’s at Valley View Mall. They made Jaycee feel exceptionally beautiful, giving her a personalized makeup consultation in a private setting for an exclusive experience. She focused on learning techniques with mascara and eyeliner, and creating a natural look that she can wear every day. “I’m really thankful to experience learning more about makeup one-on-one,” said Jaycee.
Macy’s and Kids Wish Network also gifted Jaycee generous gift cards, making her session even more extraordinary. She was able to pick out a wide assortment of MAC`s high-end cosmetics to recreate everything she learned and more. “Jaycee came home and practiced the very next day,” said her mom Cassada. “My favorite thing was watching her be so relaxed and being able to buy things she couldn’t normally do to pamper herself.” She felt radiant, glowing with happiness. During her wish, Jaycee’s family also enjoyed a memorable dinner at Smokey Bones at Valley View Mall.
Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai said, “The happiness that our Wish Kids experience during their meaningful moments stays with them long after their dream comes true.”
