A Disney and Dr. Seuss Filled Wish

ORLANDO, Fla. (June 2019): Alexandria loves Disney and Disney princesses. Her favorite is Cinderella, and she’s always wanted to visit Disney World to see Cinderella’s Castle and meet her favorite characters. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, made her dream come true, flying her family to Orlando for a royal Disney Princess party. Alexandria suffers from idiopathic intracranial hypertension, a condition that causes her body to produce too much cerebral spinal fluid, leading to increased pressure and swelling of the brain and optic nerves.

Upon arrival, Alexandria and her family checked into the beautiful Renaissance Orlando Hotel at SeaWorld. The hotel staff even had balloons and presents waiting for Alexandria when she arrived in her room. She was kindly gifted a baby doll and a jeweled crown fit for a princess. She spent her first day at the parks in Magic Kingdom where she met all her favorite princesses including Cinderella. After a royal day at Disney, the family had an inventive dinner at The Edison in Disney Springs.

The following day, the family ventured to Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. She had a blast at the water park and loved spending time in Dr. Seuss Land where she met The Grinch as well as Thing 1 and Thing 2. Her favorite ride was the Caro-Seuss-al, a whimsical ode to Dr. Seuss and all his creations. “All of the cast members at Universal were so friendly, and it was easy for us to do a lot of things,” said Alexandria’s mom Brandi. That evening they had a wonderful meal at BJ’s Brewhouse.

The family spent their final day in Orlando at Hollywood Studios, where Alexandria had a blast exploring the attractions and experiencing some of the thrilling rides. After a fun day at the parks, they had a delicious dinner at Café Tu Tu Tango. Before packing up all their happy memories, Alexandria and her family enjoyed Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and Sea Life Aquarium.

“We were happy to give Alexandria a magical wish, complete with new experiences and all her favorite princesses,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.
