ORLANDO, Fla. (May 2019): Emma loves LEGOs and always wanted to visit LEGOLAND in Florida. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, built her a colorful LEGOLAND wish brick by brick.
Kids Wish Network flew her family to Orlando for a creative stay at the LEGOLAND Florida Hotel. Emma stayed in an amazing Pirate themed room complete with pirate sail bed covers, treasure maps, and pirate themed LEGOs. Emma’s favorite part of the wish was riding all the amazing roller coasters in the LEGOLAND theme park, and dancing in the hotel’s disco elevator. Emma also had a private master builder experience at the hotel, where she learned about all the different LEGO statues and built her very own velociraptor. That night they had dinner at Chili’s, and were surprised with gift bags filled with LEGOs and other fun things for Emma.
Emma suffers from congenital adrenal hyperplasia, which prevents Emma’s adrenal glands from producing cortisol, a natural steroid that helps the body fight stress and illness. Emma must take multiple shots of cortisol daily, or she could enter a life-threatening adrenal crisis.
“We’re so glad that Emma could have such a memorable LEGO adventure visiting the theme park and staying at LEGOLAND’s amazing hotel,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.
