SAN DIEGO, Calif. (February 2019): Andrew Brooke loves wildlife and LEGOs and always wanted to visit LEGOLAND and the San Diego Zoo in California. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, made his dream come true. They flew him and his family from their home in Portland, Oregon to San Diego for an exciting wildlife and LEGO adventure.
Andrew and his family stayed at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel, where they were surprised with orca and sea turtle stuffed animals as gifts from the staff. After checking in, Andrew began his California adventure at LEGOLAND. He had a blast looking at all the professional LEGO models, and he especially loved the Ninjago themed area. After a creative and constructive time at LEGOLAND, he and his family had dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory.
The next day, Andrew went to SeaWorld and loved seeing both the orca and dolphin shows, as well as all the other exciting marine life exhibits. Andrew’s favorite part was the shark touch tank where he got to pet cookiecutter sharks and other small reef sharks. After a fun day at SeaWorld, they had a delicious dinner at Seasons 52.
On the final day of Andrew’s wonderful wish, he went to the San Diego Zoo for a fun safari expedition. His favorite exhibit was the Tasmanian devil presentation. After an exciting safari excursion, Andrew and his family had a fantastic dinner at Parma Cucina Italiana, a high-end Italian restaurant in the heart of San Diego. In addition to excellent food and service, they were treated to magic performed by their wonderful servers.
“We love creating wishes that inspire moments of joy and wild excitement for our Wish Kids,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.
