ORLANDO, Fla. (March 2019): Isabella Chambers loves Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and it has always been a dream of hers to meet them. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, got out their Mickey ears and granted Isabella’s wish by flying her family to Orlando, Florida for a Disney park adventure.
Isabella suffers from PCDH19 epilepsy, a rare form of epilepsy characterized by early onset seizures, cognitive and sensory delays, and behavioral problems. She suffers from clusters of 20 to 30 seizures a day that started when she was only 7 months old. Isabella has tried many forms of medicine, but all have failed to control her seizures.
Isabella and her family stayed at the wonderful Melia Orlando Hotel during their trip to Disney. When she arrived, Isabella was surprised to find her room had been decorated in Disney accessories including Minnie Mouse and Disney princess decorations. On the first day of her Disney adventure, Isabella and her family went to Magic Kingdom where she got to meet some of her favorite characters including Mickey, Minnie, and Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Isabella even got to dance with Belle and be in her show. For dinner, Isabella dined at Chef Mickey’s where she got to visit with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy.
During her second day at Disney, Isabella went to Hollywood Studios, where she marched along with the stormtrooper parade. Afterwards, Isabella went to the Launch Bay where she got to meet tons of Star Wars characters including Chewbacca and Rey from The Force Awakens. To end her Disney trip, Isabella got to see the Disney Jr Live Stage Show. Isabella had an amazing time on her wish and truly felt like a princess.
“Disney is special to all kids but it is especially meaningful to Isabella and her family, and we were happy to provide her with a wish that celebrated her bravery and determination in the face of her illness,”
