ARLINGTON, VA. (February 2019): Isabella Aguilar loves shopping and theme parks. She always wanted to have her own shopping spree and visit Disney World and Universal Studios. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, granted her wish and sent Isabella on a shopping spree to The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia. They also flew her to Orlando, Florida for a four-day theme park extravaganza.
Isabella suffers from intractable focal epilepsy, and has uncontrolled nocturnal seizures that aren’t always alleviated by her medication.
Isabella’s wish began at The Fashion Centre. She was greeted by the Guest Services Manager who surprised her with a cute panda backpack. During her fabulous shopping spree, Isabella went to Michael Kors, Coach, LEGO, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Oakley, and Claire’s. Isabella got a special surprise at each store, including a new pair of sunglasses at Oakley and a gift card to the LEGO store. After a special time at each store, Isabella and her family were treated to a delectable lunch at The Sugar Factory, where she was surprised with a delicious ice cream sundae complete with a lollipop, chocolate bar and banana.
Her wish also included a theme park adventure to Disney World and Universal Studios. She had a fantastic time and went to Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom at Disney. Her favorite part was meeting princesses Rapunzel and Tiana. Isabella’s Disney portion of her wish also included dinners at BJ’s restaurant and P.F. Chang’s for dinner.
The following day, Isabella had breakfast at Voodoo Doughnuts before heading to Universal Studios for a day of exhilarating rides and dazzling shows. She also met some of the characters from Despicable Me. Afterward, she and her family had an amazing dinner at Paddlefish in Disney Springs. The staff even surprised Isabella with gifts at her table. It was an unforgettable evening to end her wonderful wish.
“I can’t thank you enough, we had such an amazing time,” said Isabella’s mom Christina.
“We love creating wishes that blend the interests of our Wish Kids into one amazing wish that inspires and delights them,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai.
