Charlie loves LEGO’s and always wanted to visit LEGOLAND and Disney. He suffers from a life-threatening autoimmune disease that he must constantly monitor. Jim Mai, a board member of Kids Wish Network, heard about Charlie’s wish and decided to sponsor Charlie by raising funds through the Melissa Mai Memorial 11th annual golf scramble, named in honor of his daughter who received a Disney wish many years ago.
Kids Wish Network flew Charlie and his family to Orlando for his big wish. They stayed at the WorldQuest Orlando Resort. The hotel went above and beyond, providing his family with a cooler full of snacks and drinks in his room. After settling in, they ventured out to explore Disney Springs; an outdoor shopping, dining and entertainment complex.
The next day, Charlie’s big LEGO adventure began at LEGOLAND Florida Resort. He had a wonderful time admiring all the life size LEGO sculptures and going on all the fun rides. Charlie even got to meet some of the LEGO characters The LEGO Movie. After his fun day at LEGOLAND, Charlie and his family had a delicious dinner at Chili’s.
After his day of creative LEGO fun, Charlie and his family went to the Disney parks for the first time. He and his family had park hopper passes, and were able to go to all four parks during their two-day Disney extravaganza. After a magical day at Disney, Charlie and his family had dinner at The Capital Grille. After their second day at the Disney parks, they had an inventive dinner at The Edison in Disney Springs.
Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following sponsors for making Charlie’s dreams become a reality:
- WorldQuest Orlando
- The Capital Grille
- The Edison
