Kaitlyn dreamed about experiencing The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, gave her a magical and thrilling adventure at Universal Hollywood.
Kids Wish Network flew Kaitlyn from Oregon to Hollywood, California to explore the excitement of Universal’s Harry Potter themed world. As a big Harry Potter fan, the wish was very meaningful for her to experience what captures her imagination. She loved visiting Hogsmeade and riding its Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride.
During Kaitlyn’s wish, she had stars in her eyes, also visiting Madame Tussauds wax museum. She especially loved seeing and taking pictures with all the Marvel figures. As part of her wish trip, the family enjoyed beautiful accommodations at the Hilton Anaheim, and memorable dinners at Tony Roma’s and Karl Strauss Brewing Company.
Kaitlyn has antiphospholipid syndrome, an autoimmune disorder in which the immune system attacks the normal proteins in the blood, and can cause blood clots in arteries and veins. She was previously hospitalized for two weeks due to a clot. She takes anticoagulant injections and medicine to help with neuropathy. The wish was a magical time for Kaitlyn and her family.
Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following sponsors for making Kaitlyn’s dreams become a reality:
- Hilton Anaheim
- Tony Roma’s
- Karl Strauss Brewing Company
- Madame Tussauds
