“He has definitely grown more passionate from the trip, he was just so happy and thrilled.”
Patrick loves history, especially American history. His favorite class is social studies, and he loves to learn about America’s government and the history of each president. Patrick wants to be president one day so he can help change the world. It has always been Patrick’s dream wish to go on a trip to Washington, D.C.
Patrick suffers from a condition known as nephrotic syndrome, which prevents his kidneys from functioning properly. Toxins in the body are not filtered and the body begins to poison itself from within which results in swelling and severe pain.
Kids Wish Network Granted Patrick’s wish and flew him and his family to Washington D.C. to tour the historical sites. Patrick’s wish began when he arrived at the beautiful St. Regis Hotel. Upon arriving the hotel staff made Patrick feel very special and even surprised him with gifts like puzzles, stuffed animals, and even books.
Patrick spent his first day in Washington exploring the city at his leisure. He visited the Lincoln Memorial as well as the Vietnam Memorial among other historical landmarks. After an educational day of exploring the National Mall Patrick and his family had a delicious dinner at Yard House.
Patrick and his family also went on a private tour of the United States Capitol Building. He toured the senate floor and get a behind the scenes look at the inner workings of the Capitol Building. Afterward, Patrick and his family dined at the wonderful Daily Grill. Patrick and his family were also invited to visit Madame Tussauds wax museum.
On their last day, Patrick and his family went on an East Wing White House tour where he saw a replica of the Oval Office. The tour was so meaningful for Patrick, and his loved seeing how happy he was. “He has definitely grown more passionate from the trip, he was just so happy and thrilled,” said Antoinette.
