At birth, King was diagnosed with Hemophilia, an inherited genetic disorder that impairs the body’s ability to make blood clots. This inability causes excessive bleeding from what would otherwise be minor injuries. King is more susceptible to bruising and an increased risk of bleeding in-between joints and inside the brain. Due to the nature of King’s condition, he spent a lot of time in the hospital. King’s condition worsened so much, that his parents needed a home health nurse three times a week to give King IV medication. King’s condition prevents him from playing contact sports, and he has to be cautious of his surroundings.
King loves Mickey Mouse and wants to be Superman when he grows up so that he can fly and save people. Out of all the places in the world, King wished he could go to Disney World. Having more than 5 family members put the family outside of Kids Wish Network’s guidelines for a travel wish, however King would still get to experience Disney. Kids Wish Network made it possible with Disney World tickets for his family, a hotel certificate, and a generous gift card to help cover the expenses of their trip.
