“My favorite part of the wish was seeing my son so happy and watching him glow.”
When Kyle was a toddler, his mom had concerns that he wasn’t meeting certain developmental milestones. She noticed that he was walking on his toes instead of his heels, and was struggling with his speech. Kyle was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, a disorder of movement, muscle tone or posture that is caused by damage occurring to the developing brain, most often before birth. Kyle underwent 5 surgeries to help reshape his bones and remove muscles that would possibly help him walk, and the last surgery was almost fatal. He acquired an infection during the healing process, and had to spend a month in the hospital undergoing further surgeries to clear the infection out. Kyle is now able to walk a little, but with difficulty. He also has asthma and issues with his blood pressure.
Kyle likes playing video games, but most of all enjoys watching his favorite WWE Superstars on television. He dreamed of attending a live WWE event and meeting his idol AJ Styles. Kids Wish Network entered the ring, making Kyle’s once on a lifetime wish come true.
Empire Limousine picked up Kyle and his mom at their home and chauffeured them to all of the day’s festivities. Their first stop was checking into the iconic and opulent The Roosevelt Hotel in midtown Manhattan. After settling in and enjoying their hotel, they had a fun afternoon at Madame Tussauds New York celebrity wax attraction. “All the figures looked so real,” said Wish Kid Kyle.
Dinner was a warm welcome for Kyle and his mom, enjoying authentic southern-style barbeque at the Southern Hospitality Restaurant. “Mark at the restaurant went all out,” said Kyle’s mom Madelyn. “Kyle was smiling the whole time. The place was so good, and every day he’s talked to me about going back.”
The next day was what Kyle had been waiting for. U.S. Limousine Service picked up the family at their hotel, and chauffeured them to dinner at The Palm Restaurant West Side for a memorable meal. “It was wonderful,” said Kyle’s mom.
After dinner, it was time for the main event. Kyle and his mom were once again escorted by U.S. Limousine to WWE’s SmackDown Live. Even before the big match, there was lots of pre-show excitement with Kyle meeting WWE Superstar AJ Styles. “I never thought I would meet him in person,” said Kyle. AJ Styles gave him special souvenirs including a shirt, gloves, hat and an autographed WWE photo book. “AJ Styles was such a generous, sweet and humble man,” said Kyle’s mom. He also gave Kyle a motivational pep talk. Kyle said, “I now feel better about myself and can accomplish and achieve.”
He was also excited seeing his idol perform at a live WWE event. “He played it so well,” said Kyle.
After Kyle’s once-in-a-lifetime experience, U.S. Limousine took them back to The Roosevelt Hotel for the final night of their relaxing stay. The following morning, Empire Limousine chauffeured the family back to their home where they had time to reflect on Kyle’s amazing dream coming true.
“My favorite part of the wish was seeing my son so happy and watching him glow,” said Kyle’s mom. “I’m now a big fan of AJ Styles as well. Since returning from the wish, I’ve been watching him on TV with Kyle too!”
