Brady was born by an emergency C-section. He was incapable of breathing on his own, and was diagnosed with Charge Syndrome, a genetic condition that also caused hearing loss, vision impairment, and RAD (Reactive Airway Disease). Brady also has T-cell immune deficiency, making it difficult for him to fight off infections, so it was necessary for him to undergo monthly IVIG infusions. Fortunately he is now improving and can have weekly treatments at home, but he will require this treatment indefinitely.
Brady is a fun and smart child who loves sports, building Lego sets and engaging others with his songs and imaginative stories.
When Kids Wish Network found out that Brady loved soccer, they contacted his favorite team The New England Revolution, and partnered to create a young soccer fan’s dream of a lifetime. While Brady’s wish was to see them play, he had no idea that he would receive soccer star status. Brady was given his very own name and numbered playing jersey, and his own locker for storing his gear, which were now necessary as part of the bigger plan.
The New England Revolution signed Brady to a two day contract, becoming an honorary member of their dynamic team! As an official new teammate, Brady participated in practices, enjoyed spending quality time with all of his favorite players, and received celebrity status answering questions during his own VIP press conference.
Head Coach Jay Heaps was touched by Brady’s spirit and positivity. He said, “We were thrilled to have Brady here and be a part of our team. He’s opened up everyone’s perspective. He’s a great kid who has overcome so many disadvantages and adversity and he’s so amazing.”
Kids Wish Network gave Brady and his family star treatment throughout the entire weekend of his momentous wish. Their first day included dining at the charming and historical Oyster House, America’s oldest restaurant on the Freedom Trail, followed by tickets to see the exuberant and wildly entertaining The Blue Man Group. Luxurious accommodations were provided by the Boston Harbor Hotel, located on the beautiful waterfront of the Rowes Wharf. The night of Brady’s big day and game with the New England Revolution, his family also enjoyed dinner at the cozy and atmospheric British Beer Company.
