“Aiden tackles each obstacle with bravery and determination.”
Aiden was born into a world of difficulties, and yet he has learned to be full of joy as he works to conquer some big challenges that he faces in his life. Soon after birth, he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, which is caused by brain damage that creates limits and difficulties with motor skills, muscles, and movement. At six months old, he was also diagnosed with autism and development delay as well.
Aiden began going to Children’s Rehabilitation Services – Jackson when he was only one year old and has continued to attend appointments every couple of months in order to receive the therapy that he needs in order to better his quality of life. The current goal that Aiden and his therapy team have been working very hard to accomplish is learning how to communicate his basic needs to others even though he is able to speak very little.
Even through these challenges, Aiden has held a contagious smile that brings joy to everyone he meets. “People seem drawn to him to get to know him” wrote his nominator to Kids Wish Network who has been very proud of all that Aiden has conquered so far. “Whether he is getting ready for another round of tests and treatments or carrying out day to day activity, he tackles each obstacle with bravery and determination.”
It is with great pride that we honor Aiden’s strength by recognizing him as Kids Wish Network’s along with Children’s Rehabilitation Services’ Hero of the Month. Congratulations, Aiden!
