Tristen was born with Down syndrome and at a very young age was diagnosed with pre-metabolic disorder, a chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin. Due to this condition, Tristen has his blood tested 10-15 times every day. Just a couple of years after his diagnosis of pre-metabolic disorder, Tristen was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease, a condition in which the immune system attacks the thyroid gland affecting the body’s functionality. In addition, Tristen also has an autoimmune disorder that causes his immune system to attack healthy cells in his body by mistake. He is currently in speech therapy once a week and takes adaptive physical education.
Despite all of these things going on, Tristen remains a caring boy who can warm your heart in a minute. Mom said Tristen can be shy at first but really warms up once he gets to know you. He has a service dog named Roxie who helps him and who he loves very much. He’s also very intrigued by sharks and all sorts of marine life. Tristen really enjoys all kinds of characters such as Power Rangers, SpongeBob, and Minions and dreams of going to Universal Studios someday to meet some of these characters in person!
Kids Wish Network knows the perfect wish for Tristen and is hard at work planning it for him; make sure to stay up to date on all of the details of his wish!
