The initial fear was that Kenzie’s all over pain and swelling were symptomatic of leukemia. Additional testing produced the diagnosis of Systematic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (SJIA), an autoinflammatory disease. But first, leukemia had to be ruled out for treatment for SJIA to begin, which it finally was after a month of testing.
Kenzie is a real trooper and now gives herself her own injections to treat the SJIA. The goal is to eventually get her off of this painful and difficult treatment.
This happy little girl enjoys playing outside and getting down and dirty, all the while wearing a sparkly dress. She hopes to return to the fun of playing soccer should her joints stop aching. She loves Harry Potter and the world of wizardry. And, she’s always wanted to see the musical Wicked.
Kids Wish Network can’t wait to send Kenzie on a trip to see the magic of Wicked; check back for more details about her wish!
