As a toddler, Gabriel always seemed to be sick; displaying a fever, nausea, and joint pain. Doctors believed these consistent symptoms in a young boy were unusual, so they began running tests. A year later Gabriel was fully diagnosed with Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis or “SJIA.” This condition causes the immune system to become active and attack healthy cells for unknown reasons which make joints swollen and painful and can cause fevers and rashes to appear all over the body.
After years of searching, Gabriel’s parents were finally able to find a doctor that could best treat their son’s condition. Gabriel has been placed on a new regiment of treatment and his condition is currently considered in remission while he is working to be slowly taken off his medications.
Gabriel is an outgoing and talkative boy that always seems to have that happy-go-lucky type attitude. Gabriel is currently taking guitar lessons and learning how to work with digital media programs to edit photos. He enjoys watching professional bowling on television. Gabriel is looking for his next big adventure in life and hopes to travel to see what beauty the world has to offer.
