In one day, Trevor was so thirsty that he drank eight bottles of water, a pint of milk, a half gallon of iced tea, and a liter of soda. His blood sugar results were so high that they wouldn’t register on the machine’s scale. He had also lost 19 pounds since his last visit. His diagnosis was a metabolic disorder in which the pancreas doesn’t produce insulin in the quantities needed to maintain a normal blood glucose level.
Trevor is a kind hearted and intelligent honors student who plans on pursuing a career in aerospace engineering. In his spare time, Trevor also collects and trades Disney pins. Kids Wish Network combined both and sent Trevor and his family to Orlando so he could get his fill of Disney and also visit the Kennedy Space Center.
Trevor and his family stayed as guests of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel at the Entrance to Universal Orlando. With easy access, Trevor spent a couple of days at the Disney Parks and enjoyed dinners at Cheesecake Factory Orlando at the Mall Milinia, the western-themed Texas Roadhouse, the family-friendly steakhouse chain Tony Roma’s, and Emeril’s Orlando that features its namesake’s New Orleans cuisine. The family made time to be guests of I-Drive 360, home of the 400-foot Orlando Eye, Sea Life Aquarium, and Madame Tussauds.
Recognizing Trevor’s interest in aerospace, Kids Wish Network also arranged for a tour of the Kennedy Space Center, and even more special, a opportunity to have lunch with Astronaut Wendy Lawrence.
